OUR COMMUNITY / OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Build good things.
Be good to people.

COMMUNITY STANDARDS

A place to think independently, create together and belong. These are the standards we bring to every project, conversation and connection on Sponsierra.

Report a concern
01 / ACCEPTANCE & DEI

You belong here.

Engineering benefits from different experiences, perspectives and ways of thinking. Everyone deserves dignity, a fair opportunity to participate and the freedom to be themselves.

We welcome people across race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, body type and financial background. Respect people’s names, pronouns, autonomy and lived experiences. No one should have to defend their identity to take part.

Diversity

Invite different voices. Listen beyond your own experience.

Equity

Recognize different starting points. Help remove barriers to participation.

Inclusion

Make room for people to contribute, learn and be heard.

Read Frameworks’ Inclusion & Diversity principles
02 / COMMUNITY CARE

Look after the people
behind the projects.

Welcome beginners. Give useful feedback with patience. Ask before sharing someone else’s work, personal information or private conversations. Credit collaborators and respect boundaries when someone needs space.

Care also means speaking up when something is wrong. Support someone being targeted without joining a pile-on, and report harmful behavior through the contact route below. Retaliation against someone who raises a concern is not permitted.

03 / HUMAN IDEAS. POWERFUL TOOLS.

Use AI to accelerate.
Keep thinking for yourself.

AI is welcome on Sponsierra. Use it to explore an idea, understand a concept, prototype a solution or improve your work. Your curiosity, creativity and judgment still need to lead.

  • Make something of your own. Develop your own ideas and skills. Be able to explain the decisions behind what you share.
  • Check the output. Test code, verify claims and sources, and review for bias or mistakes. You remain responsible for your work.
  • Be transparent. Explain meaningful AI contributions when sharing a project or application. Never invent achievements, evidence or credentials.
  • Respect other people. Protect private data, credit original creators and follow your school, team and sponsor’s rules for AI use.
Bring your thinking. Use the tools. Own the result.
04 / A HEAT-FREE, HATE-FREE ZONE

Debate ideas.
Respect people.

You are welcome to question, disagree, think critically and express your opinions about projects and ideas. Keep the conversation constructive: explain your reasoning, engage with evidence and leave room to learn.

Make room for

  • Thoughtful technical debate and different approaches.
  • Honest questions and respectful feedback.
  • Good-faith concerns about our platform or decisions.

Leave out

  • Political campaigning, partisan advocacy and political arguments.
  • Discrimination, slurs or attacks on minorities or anyone’s identity.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, humiliation and deliberate provocation.
  • Content that denies others equal dignity or participation.

Sharing your identity, asking for inclusion or reporting discrimination is welcome. Our acceptance and DEI commitments are part of how this community operates.

Content that violates these standards is subject to removal. Accounts responsible for discriminatory or hateful conduct may be suspended or banned. These standards apply to profiles, posts, replies, club content and sponsorship interactions.

06 / CARE BEYOND THE SCREEN

A better community.
A healthier environment.

What we build has an impact beyond a single project. We encourage teams to share knowledge and equipment, repair and reuse parts when safe, reduce unnecessary waste and consider materials, energy use and a product’s full life cycle.

Our sponsorship and community programs connect people with opportunities to learn, collaborate and make thoughtful use of resources. Teams can participate for free, helping more students find a starting point.

Through its Stripe Climate initiative, The Frameworks Company commits 1% of its revenue to carbon removal. This company initiative sits alongside the everyday choices we encourage across our community.

07 / YOU DON’T HAVE TO HANDLE IT ALONE

Support starts
with being heard.

If you experience or witness discrimination, hate, harassment or another concern on Sponsierra, contact The Frameworks Company. You can also use this route to raise a concern about a moderation decision.

Tell us that your concern relates to Sponsierra. Include the relevant page or post link, what happened and when, and screenshots if you feel comfortable sharing them. Share only the personal information needed to explain the concern.

You can seek support whether or not you choose to report. Frameworks’ mental health resource page is separate from the platform reporting process.
